3 Doors Down lead singer Brad Arnold revealed he is fighting stage 4 clear cell renal cell carcinoma, a type of kidney cancer that has spread to his lungs. The 46-year-old artist made the announcement in an emotional video posted to the band’s official Instagram account on May 7, 2025.
“Got some not so great news for you today,” Arnold started in the video. “I’d been ill a couple weeks back, and then I went to the hospital and got examined and had actually received the diagnosis that I had clear cell renal cell carcinoma that had spread in my lung, and .”
In spite of the gravity of his illness, Arnold showed unshakeable belief and hope. “We serve a mighty God.,” he stated.
Due to his diagnosis, 3 Doors Down has postponed their summer tour, which was planned to feature concerts with Creed and other groups. All tour dates have been eliminated from the band’s website.
Arnold, the group’s final original member, requested prayers from fans and cited their 2008 hit “It’s Not My Time” as an inspiration for personal strength. “I’d love for you to lift me. “And I think it’s time for.?”
The band’s Instagram post reiterated this sentiment, expressing their appreciation to fans and requesting support during this challenging time. “Thank you for all the memories.!”
